I’m reaching out to share a cause deeply close to my heart and an opportunity to make a lasting global impact. On March 16, 2025, I’ll be participating in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon to raise funds for a critical mission: the construction of the first children’s cancer hospital in sub-Saharan Africa.

The statistics are devastating. Right now, 9 out of 10 children diagnosed with cancer in this vast region do not survive. That’s a 90% mortality rate in an area 2.3 times the size of the United States. This hospital isn’t just a vision—it’s a lifeline. Its urgency cannot be overstated. That’s why I am deeply honored to run for Shoe4Africa, an organization tirelessly dedicated to providing life-saving care for children in need.

Shoe4Africa has already achieved monumental impact by building East & Central Africa’s first Public Children’s Hospital, which has provided care for over one million children. Now, they are answering an even greater call to combat the unimaginable lack of cancer care resources in this region.

This mission is deeply personal to me, as I am passionate about expanding access to opportunities and care. In 2009 and 2010, I had the privilege of calling Rwanda home while supporting education initiatives in Gitarama and Byimana. That experience profoundly deepened my connection to East Africa and its communities

Additionally, my belief in healing through movement and embodiment has shaped much of my life. Yoga and running have been my practices—and in 2023, I had the privilege of running the Chicago Marathon to raise funds for dogs facing cancer. This time, I’m running for children who deserve the chance to grow, to heal, and to thrive.. regardless of where they live or socioeconomic status.

I’m asking for your support in this meaningful endeavor. Every single dollar donated goes directly towards building this hospital. Together, we can change the story for children facing cancer, giving them hope and a future.
