shoe4africa - make the difference!

Hello!

On Nov 3rd, 2024, I am participating in the TCS New York City Marathon to raise funds for the construction of sub-Saharan Africa’s first children’s cancer hospital.

Currently, 9 out of 10 children diagnosed with cancer in sub-Saharan Africa do not survive. The need for help is clear and that’s why I am running for Shoe4Africa, an organization committed to making a difference.

Seeing children’s lives changed has been close to my heart for many years, whether it was volunteering with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for their Ride for Kids or helping children grieving the loss of a loved one through Camp Cocoon. As someone who has experienced the loss of a parent as a child and the loss of sister to cancer, I can empathize with the anxiety and fear these children must feel when they receive their diagnosis. However, we were fortunate to have hope of quality medical treatment for my sister, to go along with the peace we find in God. This is why I am asking you to join me in raising funds to build this cancer specific hospital to give these children the same hope that we experience. Hope that comes from knowing you have access to quality medical care and peace in knowing that God is providing for you and watching over you.

Shoe4Africa has already built East & Central Africa’s first Public Children’s Hospital, which has provided crucial care to over 1,000,000 children. Now, they are aiming to take it a step further by constructing a dedicated children’s cancer hospital.

I am reaching out to ask for your support in this meaningful endeavor. 100% of your donation, regardless of the amount, will go directly to this noble cause. Together, we can make a substantial impact on the lives of children facing cancer in sub-Saharan Africa.

Thank you for considering supporting this cause and my journey to the TCS New York City Marathon, I appreciate any support you can provide.

Thanks,

Sheila
