Yesterday at our hospital we had a visit from (L to R) Noah (the pole vaulter), Isaac, Simon, Liz, and Dad Simon. Isaac, when nine, was diagnosed with cancer. When they heard about our Greater Equator Relay (starring Paula Radcliffe), they did a relay in England from the football field where Isaac first realized he was ill, to the hospital where he was treated to raise funds for the new Shoe4Africa Juli Anne Perry Cancer Hospital. They were blown away, blown away that over in Africa 9/10 diagnosed with cancers die. Meanwhile, Liz was told, “Don’t worry, this is totally treatable, Isaac will be fine.”
Two worlds! Thanks for coming, telling your story to the kids, inspiring moms, and dancing like crazy to entertain the hospital!
