Back in 2017, or so, the World Majors Marathons decided to allow athletes to pick a charity. If they won the World Majors Marathon then a $10,000 donation would go to the athlete’s charity. Evans picked Shoe4Africa, which touched our hearts. Evans did not win that year and the WMM dropped this great charitable initiative.

Well, Evans remained in the Shoe4Africa story, helping with our Shoe4Africa All4Running School where he now has a classroom named after him. We were delighted this past Monday when he won the 126th Boston Marathon, just beating Benson Kipruto, more on him in an earlier post – not just a reigning champ, but a man who donated to S4A last year. So, congrats Evans and Benson!
