shoe4africa - make the difference!

false - 30878

On November 3rd, 2024, I am fortunate enough to be running in the TCS New York City Marathon in support of Shoe4Africa, a wonderful charity that has made a huge impact on Africa for years.

If you know me well enough or have been a part of my athletic career, you probably remember that running has never been my favorite activity! In fact, it was like pulling teeth to get me to a track or go on a long run. Nevertheless, I decided to start my running journey this past March to stay in shape after retiring from Professional Lacrosse & have surprisingly grown to love it. The time has now come to run my first full marathon & I’m running for something much bigger – raising funds to build sub-Saharan Africa’s very first children’s cancer hospital!

At the moment, 9 out of 10 kids diagnosed with cancer in this region don’t make it. It’s gut-wrenching, but that’s why I’m stepping up (literally) for Shoe4Africa, an incredible organization that’s already built East & Central Africa’s first Public Children’s Hospital, serving over a million kids since opening a few years ago!

Now, we’re tackling cancer with the same grit – building a dedicated cancer hospital for children.

I’m reaching out to you for support. Any donation – big, small, brick by brick – will go 100% to this cause. All donations are tax deductible.

Warm regards,
Jake
