Hi everyone!
My name is Isabel Vara, and I am thrilled to announce that I will be running the 2025 New York Marathon! I am honored to be running in support of Shoe4Africa, an incredible organization dedicated to building the FIRST EVER Children’s Cancer Hospital in sub-Saharan Africa!! As a pre-medical student at Northeastern University with a focus on global health, this cause aligns well with my personal goals. My dream is to one day use my medical degree to provide care in underserved communities around the world. Access to healthcare, especially for children battling cancer, should be a right and by supporting Shoe4Africa, we can help make this vision a reality!

Beyond my passion for medicine, running has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. In 2023, I had the incredible experience of running the Boston Marathon alongside my twin sister, and I’m beyond excited to take on New York with her by my side once again. There’s something truly special about combining my love for running with a cause that means so much to me.
