shoe4africa - make the difference!
Dear Friends and Family!
As you may know, I have a little hobby that I will talk about from time to time called running. I continue to feel grateful that these legs have not let me down and have decided to add some inspiration to my next goal. I want to run for those who can’t and have pledged to run the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon with the charity Shoe4Africa. At it’s onset, Shoe4Africa pledged to provide shoes for those in need and has since evolved into so much more. The mission is to care for African kids born into poverty who have cancer. The odds are against these kids when they are diagnosed. 9/10 are dying in sub-Saharan Africa because there is not a single children’s cancer hospital in the entire region of sub-Saharan Africa (a population of over one billion). Access to care has been a driving force in the direction my professional career has taken. I feel especially passionate to advocate for those whose voice will not be heard.
Shoe4Africa is a small, NYC based charity that is committed to making big changes in Africa. In 2015, they opened the first public children’s general hospital in East Africa, which treats 400+ patients a day. Will you help as I run for the charity that is going to bring the first children’s cancer hospital, a 152-bed public facility, to this region?
Matching gifts welcomed, and all donations are tax deductible under US law. I appreciate anything you are able to contribute, truly every dollar helps.
Thank you for caring to make the difference – Let’s do it!
