Hello World!

I know there was a time where I said I would NEVER do this – but lo and behold – I am running my first ever marathon! Not only that, but I am running for an incredible cause that is near and dear to my heart. This November, I will be running the TCS New York City Marathon on the Shoe4Africa team, which is a nonprofit organization that has a mission of empowering African children and women. Shoe4Africa focuses on bringing health, education, and empowerment to help African boys and girls not only survive, but thrive.

Let me paint this picture for you:
Shoe4Africa built the first public children’s hospital in East & Central Africa treating 100,000+ patients, built four public schools for local communities now providing 1500+ African kids with free education, organizes empowerment workshops for African women, and provides thousands of shoes to people living in slums.

As some of you likely know, my family is from South Africa. During every trip to SA throughout my life, I’m always in awe at the poverty and conditions in certain areas. It is time to do something about it. I am committing to raising $3000 for Shoe4Africa and by doing so, saving lives. Then on November 4, I will be running 26.2 miles on the Shoe4Africa team.

I hope that you will help me reach this goal. Any contribution counts, and every penny makes a difference. I truly appreciate your support, and together we will make a difference in African lives!
