shoe4africa - make the difference!
Last fall I started on an incredible journey; I started running. It has been hard, step by step, and with lots of support, my next goal is completing the New York City Marathon, 26.2 miles, on November 4th.
I am running to raise awareness and funds for the only public children’s hospital in East & Central Africa. The charity, Shoe4Africa, built the hospital in 2015 and they are currently treating around 400-patients per day at their 150-bed hospital. To put that into context, St. Jude’s hospital has only 70-beds! This is vital where 2 out of 3 of all Sub Saharan children’s deaths are said to be both treatable and preventable. We need to help them.
My story will be full of commitment, miles, blisters, blood, sweat and tears, but it will be worth it as I am truly running for a purpose this November. If you can make a donation I would be very grateful – no matter how much the amount. Will you sponsor me $1 or $2 per mile or whatever you feel you can afford? You can donate either by a check made out to Shoe4Africa and send it to me or you can make an electronic donation from this page; I would really appreciate the support and together we can make a difference!
Thank you in advance for your help and support, and the children in East Africa also thank you!
A huge thank you!
