shoe4africa - make the difference!
On March 17, 2019, the Lockwood sisters will be embarking on their next adventure – this time in New York City. This adventure started like most: Jessica had a crazy idea on a whim, texted Katie and a few minutes later they were both signed up. Signed up for what exactly? The United Airlines NYC Half Marathon.
That’s right! These two (typically) non-running, travel loving sisters are lacing up their tennis shoes and running 13.1 miles, through a city they love, for a cause that is near and dear to their hearts.
Shoe4Africa is a non-profit organization that opened the first public children’s hospital in East and Central Africa. This hospital, which treats over 116,000 children each year, is not only a center providing free healthcare but it also acts as a teaching hospital for medical professionals.
All of the funds from this year’s marathon team will help Shoe4Africa continue to provide both exceptional medical care and education, while funding the development of new public schools in the region.

As you know, we have a deep admiration for the people of Africa – as they have shown us nothing but love, determination and resilience in our 6 trips to this great continent. Please help us raise money to provide basic healthcare and education to those in need.
We are greatly appreciative of your love and support!
