shoe4africa - make the difference!
Hi Friends and Family!
I have signed up to run the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon! This is not my first marathon and I know the struggle and determination needed to complete the 42.2km course. However, what is required to run a marathon is nothing compared to the courage and strength shown by African children born into poverty and diagnosed with cancer.
The odds are against these children; in sub-Saharan Africa, 9/10 children are not surviving when diagnosed with cancer and a major reason why is because there is not a single children’s cancer hospital in the entire region of sub-Saharan Africa (a population of over one billion). In contrast, 1/10 American children diagnosed with cancer do not survive, with most of the children being healed receiving treatment in children cancer centers.
Will you help as I run for the charity that is going to bring the first children’s cancer hospital, a 152-bed public facility, to sub-Saharan Africa? Any amount is greatly appreciated and will go a long way to help these children have a fighting chance of survival.
Thank you for caring to make a difference and supporting this great cause!
