shoe4africa - make the difference!
On March 20th I’ll be running the 2022 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon.
I’ll be representing team Shoe4Africa in hopes to raise money for the first kids cancer hospital in Sub-Saharan Africa. Toby Tanser, founder of Shoe4Africa, was my college cross-country coach, and has not only helped me grow my passion for running, but also their amazing cause. Toby and his team have worked tirelessly to promote this cause and even opened the 1st children’s general hospital in East Africa in 2015.
I met Toby in the fall of my college semester while I was waiting for track season to start. As a sprinter and field athlete in high school, you couldn’t get me to run a mile. He insisted that I join the cross country team because “I needed to be making better use of my free time”, and now here I am years later, still running! I have been running for myself all my life, but it feels amazing to be running for someone other than me and for a cause I believe in. I cannot wait till March, and I hope you will join me in raising awareness for this great organization by sharing and donating.
All donations are tax deductible and 100% of the funds raised will go directly to making this hospital a reality.
