Dear Friends & Family!

After participating in several runs and a handful of half marathons, I am excited to be running my first marathon this year. While the NYC marathon has been a dream of mine, I’ve spent some time reflecting on how this run can give back in a greater way and help impact the lives of others. So this November, I will be running on behalf of Shoe4Africa – a nonprofit organization that focuses on health, education, and empowerment – in order to help African brothers and sisters not only survive, but thrive.

Shoe4Africa has built the first public children’s hospital in East & Central Africa. Can you believe that for one billion people, all of Sub Saharan Africa had only one public kids hospital until Shoe4Africa Hospital opened in 2015? This meant that the kids would have to go to overcrowded adults general hospitals or private ones. In the last year, over 116,000 patients were treated! The mission of Shoe4Africa Children’s Hospital is to attain the highest level of advanced pediatrics and provide safe and effective medical and surgical care. They strive to be a teaching hospital that will help empower, educate & enable the future of a healthy East Africa. Thus I am signing up to help them with their goal; No African Child Left to Die.

If you could help me on this journey, I am trying to fundraise $3,000. Any level of contribution, prayer and encouragement is welcomed and greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your generosity and support!

Love,
Amber
