shoe4africa - make the difference!
I have managed to secure a place in the 2019 TCS NYC Marathon this year and for the event I will be supporting Shoe4Africa – a charity that is raising awareness and funds for the only public children’s hospital in East & Central Africa. The hospital was opened in 2015 and right now they are treating over 430-in & out patients per day at their 200-bed hospital. The goal is to help raise enough funds to to build Sub Saharan Africa first Children’s Cancer Hospital that is being constructed next year!
As a person with African ancestral roots it saddens me that there is so much poverty where children are suffering from many diseases, so supporting this charity means a lot to me.
As many of you have come to know I am quite the adventurous type and pushing myself to the limit from initially running 10k to taking part in the London marathon, I have even dabbled in boxing, fighting in front of a big crowd too. So naturally taking on the New York marathon, one of the biggest marathons in the world would be the next challenge to tick of the bucket list.
I am setting a target of $6000 and with your help over the next 5 months I hope we can reach that target and make a real difference to the lives of these young children. Any donation big or small would be going to a worthwhile cause.
