Dear friends and family, Many of you have been following my runs over the past couple of years. Last November, I ran the 2022 New York City Marathon to raise funds for East African children born into poverty and diagnosed with cancer. But, their work in not finished. I need to keep on running. I have committed to run the United Half NYC event this March the 19th. The charity I am running for, Shoe4Africa, works to improve survival rates in this area. It opened the first public children’s general hospital in east Africa in 2015 and is now committed to building the first children’s cancer hospital, a 152-bed facility, in Sub-Saharan Africa. Children in East Africa have a 1 in 10 chance of survival compared to 8-9 out of 10 in Europe and the US. As you know, I was fortunate enough to receive great care when I was diagnosed with Leukaemia as a child. Your donations can directly help children with worse odds than I had to receive similar care, as 100% of funds raised will go directly to making this hospital a reality. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to do more! With much love and appreciation for your support, |
